Hosting dinner parties are probably one of the most stressful things to do, seriously. Even me, a total foodie and lover for entertaining, I still find it stressful. So, instead of pulling out that prime rib or roasted chicken, why not have an appetizer party! Make an assortment of appetizers, and everyone will be happy! Honestly, I love finger food and just grabbing food when I feel like it as opposed to having a plate full of food and eating it all at once. Heavy appetizers is the way to go. Below are my go to, bullet proof appetizers that are total standouts!!! Prepare to be hosting all dinner parties from now on after you make these for your family and friends!
1. Homemade Crostini with Burrata and Prosciutto
Homemade Crostini with Burrata and Prosciutto
Perfect for eating cheese and meats! Adds a nice crunch!
- 1 ciabatta loaf or flat loaf
- olive oil
- salt and pepper
- preheat oven to 350 degrees F
- thinly slice the bread, and then if it is still a large slice, cut again but vertically
- Place on a baking sheet and using a pastry or bbq brush, generously coat the slices in olive oil
- Salt and pepper, preferably with course sea salt, and place in oven for 5-6 minutes or until golden brown and crisp
- Let cool and then place on a platter with burrata in the middle, and the crostini and prosciutto around it.
2. Smashed Potatoes
These are my absolute favorite and way better than mashed potatoes! These are bite size and all my family and friends always ask me to make these time after time! Perfectly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I already did a blog post on this recipe, so get the recipe for these smashed potatoes right here!!
3. Tricolore Salad
You see that salad at the top? Well that is one of the best salads, and yes it involves kale! Having a salad at any party is just always a good idea. And I love this salad because it is simple, fancy, and involves a lot shaved parmesan.
You can watch my video on how I made the salad here! Also, while you’re at it, feel free to subscribed to my channel 😉Print
I love this salad because it is simple, fancy, and involves lots of parmesan.
- 1 bunch of tuscan kale
- 2 endives
- 1 red lettuce
- lemon juice
- olive oil
- salt and pepper
- shaved parmesan
Combined chopped lettuce together, add about 2 tbsp of olive oil to start with. Make sure evenly coated and add a little more if you need.
Add the juice of 1/2 a lemon and mix again.
Generously sprinkle shaved parmesan and mix, sprinkle again to have on top. Add a pinch of pepper and serve!
And those are my top appetizers! Stay tuned, because I will be adding more posts with some other really yummy appetizers! But these are a great start! And don’t forget that a bowl of nuts and some fancy olives are great to have on the side as well! Let me know if any of these recipes help make your next dinner party a bit more yummy and a bit less stressful!
