As you may now, Tartine Manufactory is one of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco. Whether you are visiting, or you are a Bay Area native, you cannot skip over this place! Tartine is basically a food hub with state of the art food ranging from pastries to full course meals, to dessert. The owners of Tartine actually decided to go back to France to learn the right way about pastry making, and now they brought their talents to San Francisco. If you want to hear more of the back story with Tartine and other yummy pics, head over to my post about it here. With this post, I am going to focus on my favorite menu items, and of course tons of mouth-watering pictures!
Ok, after adding all those photos to this post, I’m slightly drooling! (more pics below, stay tuned!) Like I said in my previous post, Tartine is the creme of the creme. Everything on their menu is fantastic, but these are some of my favorites! Whether you are coming to grab brunch with a friend, quick lunch break, or a dinner date, Tartine’s ambiance is like no other.
But most importantly, let’s talk about what to order! I came here for lunch, so most of the items I am going to talk about today are from their lunch menu. If you are coming for breakfast or dinner, check out their menu here.
1. BBQ Pork Sandwich with Brioche
This is my favorite sandwich to get at Tartine Manufactory. Not only is the BBQ pulled pork so flavorful and tender, but the addition of the cucumbers and greek yogurt sauce is a perfect combination of barbecue and greek cuisine. A match made in heaven, they compliment each other so well, and what is better than a brioche bun!?!
2. BLT Sandwich
This is certainly not your traditional BLT, so if you love that American BLT sandwich, you might be hesitant. What I thought was interesting with this sandwich was that the potatoes were slightly fried, not to mention most BLTs don’t come with potatoes. There are also onions on this sandwich and a delicious yogurt sauce like the one from the BBQ Pork. I did enjoy this sandwich very much, but it would not be my first choice, it kind of felt like it was just missing something. But none the less, still delicious.
3. Yellow Peach and Corn Salad
This was by far my favorite thing that I ate! Crazy right!? But yes, that’s how amazing it was. I will admit, I originally ordered it because it looked so pretty, but then when I tried it, I fell in love. The fresh corn with the juicy peaches just go together so well. The ricotta salata was so finely shaved that it practically just melted in your mouth. Again, everything just compliments the other so well. I highly recommend ordering this!
4. Bread Pudding
This was by far the best bread pudding I have ever had. And it’s no surprise since Tartine Bakery was first to open, and then Tartine Manufactory. All of Tartine’s baked goods are phenomenal, trust me, I’ve tried them all. But if you are a bread pudding lover, then this will hit the spot!
5. PB&J Ice Cream Pie
Now this is definitely an interesting dessert when I first saw it. But I was definitely intrigued and it was absolutely mind-blowing. In fact, it was named Bon Appetite’s Dessert of the Year! So here’s the run down: The crust is a peanut butter cookie crust, and then at the bottom (not visible) there is a thin layer of jelly. The filling is a mixture between ice cream and sorbet, topped with candied peanuts. I couldn’t stop eating it! Is it the best dessert of the year? Not sure, because it doesn’t involve chocolate 😉 But it is sure pretty darn great!
Also, when you go, make sure to pick up a loaf of their freshly baked bread. It is some of the best. Like I said, Tartine Manufactory is an iconic place to eat at, and certainly cannot be passed on! Feel free to comment below when you go, I can’t wait to hear what you order!
