Baked Lamb and Pork Meatballs

Baked lamb and pork meatballs

These are the ultimate meatballs! Some of the best you will have. Perfect for a family dinner or inviting guests over! Serve with toasted bread!

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
  2. In a large bowl, combine the three meats, so that each one is evenly mixed together.
  3. Then add in the bread crumbs, ricotta, eggs, parsley, ground fennel, oregano, salt, and pepper together.
  4. Mix together well.
  5. In a large casserole dish or cast iron skillet, butter the dish and then start forming large meatballs, and place them side by side in the dish or skillet. Meatballs should be slightly bigger than normal meatballs.
  6. Place in oven and cook for 30 minutes.
  7. After 30 minutes take the meatballs out and evenly pour the can of tomatoes over the meatballs. Place back in oven and turn down the temperature to 325 degrees F.
  8. Cook for 50 minutes.
  9. Remove meatballs from oven, generously sprinkle parmesan cheese over the meatballs and sprinkle with chopped parsley. Serve with toasted bread.

These make quite a few meatballs, and the meatballs are not small. Therefore, if you are only cooking for a few, feel free to reduce the recipe by half.
